Call for statements of interest for FEMMSS panel at the American Philosophy of Science 2016 meeting

The American Philosophy of Science Association (PSA) has invited FEMMSS to propose a 90-minute session for the upcoming PSA meeting.  Statements of Interest for developing this FEMMSS session are invited.  These Statements will be swiftly reviewed.  If accepted, FEMMSS will require the development of a full proposal.

The conference will be held at the Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta, Georgia, Nov. 3-6, 2016.

The statement of interest submission deadline is June 6, 2016

If accepted, the full proposal deadline is July 1, 2016

Submission Instructions

Please submit a statement as a single PDF or Word document to femmsspsa@gmail.com. The statement can be up to 500 words and must answer the following questions:

·      What is the title and topic of your session?

·      What is the proposed format of the session? (Note that PSA will provide meeting rooms and AV equipment.)

·      How is this topic important?

·      How does this topic relate to the FEMMS and PSA mission statements? (The FEMMSS mission statement may be reviewed here: http://femmss.org/mission.html, and the PSA mission statement here: http://philsci.org/about-the-psa.)

·      What are the confirmed participants’ names, institutional affiliations, and contact email addresses, and how will they contribute to the session?

Please note that as per current PSA policy:

·     No one is permitted to present more than once at PSA 2016 (excluding poster forum presentations); thus, ensure that your proposal does not include any listed presenting authors or commentators accepted by the regular program committee.

·      No paper previously published or in the process of publication (including review) may be presented at the PSA meeting.
