Many herbal products sold as food supplements don’t contain key ingredients

A BBC investigation has found that some herbal remedies sold as food supplements do not contain the main ingredient as marketed.
The BBC Two television series Trust Me, I’m a Doctor, working with University College London School of Pharmacy, tested more than 70 commonly used herbal remedies. The findings feature in a programme broadcast on the channel on Wednesday 15 July at 8 pm.
As a nation the United Kingdom spends £118m (€165m; $185m) on
