I sell earrings and necklaces to support my travels around BC. At Christmas time I have given a gift card by someone who prefers conventional jewellery instead of my ``gypsy beads``. I decided to use her giftcard and the leftovers of some other gift cards to upgrade the necklaces I was making and buy new findings since I had used up my findings fixing another host`s necklaces.
I told topgembead I was using giftcards and gave time for the payment to be sent. But the seller kept saying the payment could not be found until I sent proof. Then the beads were sent but returned to sender. In the meantime I had left the address I was at and moved somewhere else and my previous host had to send my beads ordered from China to my new address. I decided to cancel the beads I had ordered from topgembeads in the US, so that my host would not have to spend more money shipping items that should have arrived when I was still at her place.
I did not check the EBay rules and regulations because the shipping problems of the seller (insufficient postage or whatever mistake was made) are not my problem, however EBay decided differently. Topgembead offered a refund of $5.13, but it was the larger amount - the shipping costs of $20.46 that I wanted back. If topgembead had spend $20 on shipping I don`t think the beads would have been returned to sender, unless another shipping mistake was made.
The situation is quite ironic because the reason I quit selling on EBay is because Ebay usually wrongly sides with the buyer. Maybe EBay makes more wrong decisions than it should.
