The successful candidate will be nominated for a Canada Research Chair (tier II). We will consider all outstanding applicants with a track record of demonstrated excellence in applying systems biology approaches to address basic biological questions that will complement the strengths of the Department of Cell & Systems Biology in plant and microbial biology, comparative genomics, chemical genomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics. Evidence for strong academic and/or industry collaboration will be considered an asset. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Biology or related field (e.g., Systems Biology, Synthetic Biology, Molecular & Cellular Biology, Genome Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Plant Biology, etc.), and substantial postdoctoral experience. The candidate will be expected to pursue a vigorous internationally recognized research program. Evidence of excellence in research will be demonstrated by publications in top ranked and field relevant academic journals, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, and strong endorsements by referees of high standing. In addition, we expect a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students. This can be demonstrated by strong endorsements from referees of top international stature, teaching statement, teaching accomplishments highlighted as part of the application, as well as any additional evidence.
