Events planned to mark 70th anniversary of Windrush's arrival

The African Caribbean & African Kultural Heritage Initiative will mark seven decades since the boat, named after an Oxfordshire river, arrived in England from the Caribbean. Working with the city council and various museums, a number of events will be held in 2018 and 2019 to commemorate and celebrate the contribution of the first British Caribbeans. The Lord Mayor will launch the programme at the Pitt Rivers Museum from 6.30pm
