Proud flesh

I sent a note to the relevant person for the academic peer-reviwed, ProudFlesh: New Afrikan Journal of Culture, Politics and Consciousness
http://www.africaknowledgeproject.org/index.php/proudflesh pointing out that proud flesh has a well established meaning in animal care. The relevant person wrote back to state that they are embracing the scar tissue meaning.
