Dear HSS Members,
The deadline for stand-alone paper proposals for the 25th International Congress of History of Science and Technology in Rio de Janeiro, 23-29 July 2017 is fast approaching: 16 Dec (seehttp://www.ichst2017.sbhc.org. br/site/capa – the link to “stand-alone proposals” guidelines appears on the left side of the screen. Non Brazilians will need to furnish a passport number.) Possible NSF travel grants may be available to help offset transportation costs to the conference. These grants would be for graduate students, independent scholars, and recent PhDs (within 5 years of degree) who are on the program and who are US citizens or who are attending a US institution.
The quadrennial international congresses offer the best opportunity to share your research in person with a world-wide audience. The congresses also provide you innumerable possibilities for networking; at the last congress in Manchester, over 1800 scholars from dozens of countries attended.
Yours,
Jay
