CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
We invite abstracts focusing on the relationship between forests and livelihoods; how forests are defined, accessed, used, governed, and protected; and how humans and societies can improve both conservation and economic outcomes. In particular, we encourage submissions from practitioners and scholars who work at the interface of forest conservation, forest governance, and livelihoods. Abstracts should describe how the authors will use qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods and evidence to reach conclusions; examine tradeoffs and synergies in forest management, governance, and outcomes; and promote greater visibility and use of key findings, methods, data, and experiences of researchers, practitioners, and decision makers alike.Abstract submission deadline is July 10, 2016.
Notification of acceptance/decline will be given by July 30, 2016.
We also invite abstracts for workshops. Workshops should be interactive and aim to provide guidance on or access to practical tools, methods, and/or publically available datasets related to one or more of the conference themes. Workshops should be designed for a two-hour time slot, include a specific learning activity, and accommodate up to 25 participants.
Upon acceptance of an abstract, we highly encourage you to submit a full paper. Sharing full papers allows for richer information dissemination and discussion before, during, and after the conference. Papers will be available to other conference participants only via a password protected webpage. We will also develop one or two special issue proposals from the submitted papers, based on the themes we receive. Possible journals include Environmental Conservation, Forest, Policy, and Economics, Land Use Policy, Ecology and Society. Papers are due 2 weeks before the conference.
