The Gastown Messenger Blood Troubles - Dr. William's Pink Pills

"If you are ill and the doctor cannot cure you; if you have been pronounced incurable at the hospital; or if you have some ailment, small or great that gives you trouble," teased the Port Phillip Herald newspaper advertisement on July 29, 1898.
The ad announced there was hope: Purchase Dr. Williams' Pink Pills for Pale People!
Taken for "Loss of appetite, Depression of Spirits, Lack of Ambition... Locomotor Ataxia, Partial Paralysis, Sciatica..." noted directions for using Dr. Williams' Pink Pills for Pale People, the patent medicine still was "NOT a cure-all." (The list grew to include nearly 2,000 ailments.)
Prolific testimonials spread the good word about the pink pills. Bountifully produced in Brockville by George T. Fulford, the remedy was sold worldwide. The dramatic success of the company made Fulford a multimillionaire.
