First, I'd like to remind everyone that IIT re-opened the search for the Calamos Chair in Philosophy.  We have a different search committee this time around, so please don't assume that if you were not chosen in the first search, you would not be chosen in the second.  (Besides, you'd be committing the inductive fallacy.)

It's an open position at the full professor level and we beginning reviewing applications Oct. 15.  At this stage of the search all we are asking for is a letter of interest and a CV.

We are also advertising a second position, the Sawyier Pre-doctoral Teaching Fellowship, for a grad student at the dissertation stage.  Deadline is Nov. 15.  We are looking for someone in ancient philosophy or ethics.  Here is the ad on PhilJobs:
