Abstract

Official monographs with requirements for efficacy, safety and quality are highly relevant in the development of herbalmedicinal products. The new medicinal product should be innovative and also take increasing awareness of low costs of goods into account. Development projects are often generated by line extensions as part of a marketing activity. Regarding the different guidelines and their individual interpretation by the authorities, it will be an (unrealisable) dream to create only one composition of a herbal medicinal product for as many markets as possible all over the world. © ECV · Editio Cantor Verlag, Aulendorf (Germany).
